Therapy that follows your story
Hello my name is Ellyse
I’m a Clinical Nurse Specialist and a foster carer, with over 11 years of experience supporting children, young people, and families in various NHS CAMHS settings. My work has given me a deep understanding of the challenges many people face, and the importance of creating a safe, compassionate space for healing.
I trained in EMDR in 2021 and have since used it to support clients with a wide range of difficulties — from trauma and eating disorders to bullying, phobias, and other overwhelming life experiences. Whether I’m working with a child, teenager, or adult, my approach is creative, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that healing is possible at any age.
While EMDR is my primary therapy I draw on lots of other therapy models in my work, to curate a bespoke model of care for you.
areas I have supported clients with using emdr:
• Medical trauma
• Iatrogenic trauma
• Anorexia Nervosa and other primary Eating Disorders
• Emetophobia
• ARFID
• Complex trauma
• Traumatic bereavements
• Bullying
• Body image difficulties
To name but a few….
Creating therapy that works for you
I’ve worked with both adults and children using EMDR and am dual trained and soon to be dual accredited.
I enjoy working creatively with people of all ages to make EMDR feel comfortable and approachable. I often use storytelling and different senses — like smells, tastes, or sounds — to help process past experiences in a way that feels safe, grounded, and meaningful.
It’s extremely important to me that you — or your child — feel safe, seen, and supported throughout the therapy process. I take time during assessment and early sessions to really understand your experiences, strengths, and what matters most to you. This helps us work together to shape an approach that feels authentic, respectful, and tailored to your needs — so that healing can happen in a way that feels right for you.
WHY THROUGhlines therapy?
I chose the name Throughlines Therapy as a reflection of two things that have supported me through difficult times — my love of reading and trail running. Both remind me that there’s always a way forward, even when the path isn’t clear, and that we can find strength and meaning in both our stories and the journey itself.
For me, EMDR isn’t about forgetting what you’ve been through — it’s about helping you tell your story, creating a safe space to process it, and supporting you in building what you need to thrive in the next chapter of your life.
